Astaxanthin is a natural carotenoid pigment produced by the freshwater microalgae Haematococcus pluvialis. It’s the same compound that gives salmon, shrimp and flamingos their distinctive pink-red colour.

Its unique molecular structure allows astaxanthin to work across the full thickness of the cell membrane, in both fat and water environments. This makes astaxanthin particularly interesting as a broad-spectrum antioxidant compound. Gold Touch Nutrition’s Astaxanthin delivers 8mg of natural astaxanthin per serving, which is the maximum daily dose authorized under EU Novel Food Regulation 2015/2283. Each softgel is HPLC-tested to confirm potency, with fast disintegration for efficient release.

Astaxanthin is one of the most studied carotenoids in scientific literature. Research has explored its role in relation to:

Skin. Research associates Astaxanthin with improved hydration, elasticity and protection against UV-related oxidative stress. It’s an ingredient worth trying when you care about long-term skin quality. Think of it as skincare that works from the inside out — not a quick fix, but something that builds over time.

Eyes. Astaxanthin has been investigated in relation to visual comfort and eye muscle fatigue, particularly in people who spend long hours in front of screens.

Exercise & recovery. Athletes and active people have been a major focus of astaxanthin research. Studies have explored its role in reducing exercise-induced oxidative stress and supporting muscle endurance and post-workout recovery.

Immunity. Research has looked at astaxanthin’s relationship with immune cell function, particularly after periods of intense physical stress.

Our formula also contains Vitamin E (tocopherol-rich extract)- a natural antioxidant that works alongside astaxanthin and helps preserve the stability of the formula itself.

Take 2 softgels daily, preferably with a meal (fat soluble formula). Consistent daily use is recommended to allow astaxanthin to accumulate in tissues over time — most studies use a minimum of 4 weeks.

Not suitable for children and adolescents under 14 years of age. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a healthcare professional before use.

Ingredients: Filling [sunflower seed oil, astaxanthin-rich oleoresin from Haematococcus pluvialis algae (safflower seed oil, Haematococcus pluvialis extract, antioxidant: Vitamin E (tocopherol-rich extract E306))]; Softgel shell [bovine gelatin, glycerin, purified water, colour: caramel]
