Vitamin C is known for its effect on the immune system, but it can do so much more than that, for your body. Through its role in collagen formation, the water-soluble vitamin supports healthy skin, gums and normal functioning of the blood vessels. Furthermore, it is important for our antioxidative defense system: It contributes to protecting the cells against oxidative stress and recycles used vitamin E.

The Ester-C® type is a patented vitamin C matrix consisting of calcium ascorbate that has already been partially converted, so certain natural metabolites, such as threonic acid, are already present. Threonic acid and the other vitamin C metabolites promote the absorption and utilization of vitamin C in the body. In addition, threonic acid appears to be able to mobilize vitamin C already stored in the body. Ester-C® is quality tested and produced according to a patented manufacturing process by The Ester C Company in the United States.
